Forensic Mental Health Teaching Unit

The Forensic Mental Health Teaching Unit was founded in 1994 with a grant from the Home Office to facilitate teaching in Forensic Mental Health Science. The Unit is run by the two Teaching Unit Co-Directors under the overall responsibility of Professor Tom Fahy, Acting Head of the Department of Forensic Mental Health Science. Dr Shubulade Smith is in charge of coordinating MSc activities; Dr Adrian Cree coordinates Conferences and workshops.

Information about HCR-20 Risk Assessment Workshops & In- house training
The Forensic Mental Health Teaching Unit runs regular Risk Assessment workshops throughout the year. These cover various Risk Assessment tools at both a beginner and advanced level. These are coordinated by Dr Quazi Haque, Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, Institute of Psychiatry and Priory Secure Services.

We have a multidisciplinary team of HCR-20 trainers who have been trained by the author Professor Christopher Webster, Senior Research Consultant, St. Joseph’s Healthcare and Professor of Psychiatry, McMasterUniversity, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

We can offer in-house training in the HCR-20, please enquire for a quote.
