Entry Requirements
- The normal minimum entry requirements are an upper second class honours degree in a biological discipline, a medical degree (MBBS), or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard. Applicants with a non-biological degree or with a lower class will be considered on an individual basis.
- candidates must possess a high degree of competence in English in order to understand lectures. Proof of English language competence will be required for students whose first language is not English, e.g. a minimum IELTS score of 7.0, with a minimum of 6.0 in all four skills, or a computer-based TOEFL score of 250 (paper-based score ≥ 600; internet-based score ≥ 100 with a minimum 21 in listening and writing, 22 in reading and 23 in speaking ).
Intercalated MSc.The programme is suitable for medical students who have completed their preclinical studies (i.e., usually at the end of their 4th year) and who are predicted to successfully complete their preclinical finals at the first attempt. The students must also be able to suspend their medical studies for the 12 months duration of the Master's programme. The College website gives further information for students from the School of Medicine who wish to intercalate.
