biography
Dr Harvey graduated from the University of Adelaide, Australia in 1998 and subsequently moved to the UK to begin training in General Practice. He initially worked as a GP in South London, obtaining membership of the Royal College of General Practice in 2004.
Since 2004 he has undertaken specialist training in psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital in London. In 2006 he obtained membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
He is currently working as a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Psychological Medicine at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London. He is also an Honorary Locum Consultant in Liaison and Occupational Psychiatry at both King’s, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital.
In 2009 he was awarded the Royal Society of Medicine Young Epidemiologist Award. His research interests include the links between work and mental health, the effects of exercise and obesity on mental health, chronic fatigue syndrome, and the epidemiology of common mental disorders.
