biography
Dr Radua received his Medical Degree from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2003. He completed a Psychiatry internship at the Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge (Barcelona) in 2008. He also received a Degree in Statistics from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2010, being given the prize awarded to the most outstanding graduate.
He is nowadays specialized in neuroimaging research of psychiatric disorders, as well as in the development of new statistical methods and software for neuroimaging research.
activities and interests
Affective neuroscience
Research into mechanisms of emotion and emotional dysregulation in psychiatric disorders, with special focus on the investigation of the neural substrates of emotional processing by means of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).
Voxel-based meta-analysis
Development of Signed Differential Mapping, a new meta-analytic method for voxel-based neuroimaging modalities such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), positron emission tomography (PET), voxel-based morphometry (VBM) or diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), as well as its application for investigating a range of neuropsychiatric disorders.
Development of new neuroimaging software
♦ Occ package for R
. This package may be used to estimate positron emission tomography (PET) neuroreceptor occupancies with different fitting methods.
♦ SDM algorithms and graphical interface
. This program may be used to meta-analyse neuroimaging studies using techniques such as functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), positron emission tomography (PET), voxel-based morphometry (VBM) or diffusion tensor imaging (DTI). It also includes some utilities to perform simple standard meta-analyses (e.g. for global grey matter volume) as well as to conduct simple arithmetic or statistical operations with 3D images.
